Mike Brady 11/14/2002 California, United States | Even with the Taliban on the run, the situation in today's Afghanistan is still bleak. I understand that Osama Bin Laden and others like him are still hiding out and can (and likely will) do more evil deeds in the future. Yet I remember back in 1975 when the U.S. military got as many people out of Saigon (now Hoi Chi Man City, forgive me if I did not spell it correctly), Vietnam in the final hours before South Vietnam fell... and I wonder... Could the United States and other allied countries pull off a similar operation to get some of the good people in Afghanistan out of there? After all, the United States will let any refugee from Cuba who makes it to U.S. shores stay in America. Cuba is probably a slightly better place to live these days than Afghanistan is. Just a thought.

Danielle K. 11/12/2002 U.S.A., | First off, I want to say that I think you all have an excellent organization. I am doing a project for school on women's opression in Afghanistan, and I have seen praise for your organization in many places. Plus, your website has been very helpful in my research.I also send sorrow and prayer for all the women who have or are suffering in Afghanistan. I hope your freeing from the horrible Taliban rule has at least somewhat set you free. God bless!

Mamnoo 11/12/2002 | Hi, I wish freedom for women, freedom of knowledge and freedom of using the knowledge. Some people have misunderstood concepts about women wearing hijab. Muslim women chosse to wear the hijab because it is a commandment in the Koran, and because wearing it shows modesty and respect. It also allows them to resist pressures to conform to styles. It shows that there is more to a person than appearance. We got to understand every religions obligations and have resp

Abdul Razzak Keerio 11/10/2002 Pakistan | People can be cruel. I know that I can and that I have been in the past. One's religion has nothing to do with one's morality.you have the love of God. He is always with you.

Nameless 11/09/2002 LA, USA | People can be cruel. I know that I can and that I have been in the past. One's religion has nothing to do with one's morality. Christians and Jews can be as evil as they so please. Take care of yourselves, because it's a cold world out there, and if you don't take care of yourself, no one will take care of you. But always remember that no matter what, you have the love of God. He is always with you.

Mariam Zamiri 11/08/2002 Sydney , Australia | 'SHOCK' is clearly an under-statement of the emotions that are within me when I veiw the reality of the world around me.My only hope is that one day Human kind will come to its senes and remove the curtain of ignorance which ever-so dominant around the world. ....Though i am curtained from my world......I am inevitably paralled with its misery....May Allah bless us all.

Malcolm Tew 11/07/2002 Hobart, Tasmania, Australia | I have just finished reading "Veiled courage". I was appalled at my lack of knowledge and understanding of the true problems in your country. I am more appalled by the lack of information we should have been getting in our local media regarding your plight.I will now visit your site regularly and explore it entirely.I cannot express my admiration for the work you are doing. There is no doubt you should be running the country (and probably ours as well!!)

Rebecca Ryan 11/07/2002 London, OK | I feel really moved by this site and visit here all the time to find out if there is any positive news for you. The truth about the west is that the women still suffer from male domination but not in the horrific way that the brave women of afghanistan do. President Bush or Tony Blair aren't going to put the women of afghanistan first when they still allow their own women to be discriminated against and objectified. Men the world over need to realise that women are not their objects to be stared at or covered up! Women need to unify and be strong for each other because men aren't going to do it for us. I hope that you can continue to spread this MOST IMPORTANT of messages. The plight of Afghanistan's women is the magnified plight of women everywhere. and the guy who wrote the message in very bad English below this deserves a very painful arse rape himself so that he knows what he wishes on others. Keep up the good work!

someone 11/01/2002 | We all wonder why all these terrorists? The truth of the matter is, the powerful countries oppress people to the point that they have no other choice but to defend their desires with whatever it may be, even with their lives. Never under estimate the capacity of another human being to have exactly the same shortcomings you have. You see, the powerful nations must be forgiving and deal with the poor and defenseless in humble ways, oppression and torturing make the matter worse. Don'

James Cavenaugh 11/01/2002 U.S.A., | People in the United States are now boycotting all products in Germany because of Germanys refusal to provide information on muslim terrorists who gace the "potential death penalty". When I read about how these people attack schools foe the sole purpose of discouraging woman from becoming educated I have to wonder about what true evil is. These are the same terrorist being protected by the German government and the European Union, who seem more aoncerned about politcal correctness than honor and justice.

Watandaran-e-Mohtaram Salam. 10/31/2002 | Let us all sacrifice time and efforts in the way of rehabilitation of our torn nation. Our homeland right now is like a broken arm in sling waiting to heal, so my dear ghairati Afghans, it is so unfair (Najawanist) that we see our nation in misery and we go after the harsh words of arguments. Excercise some passion and mercy. Whoever it may be our leader, whoever is able to pull us out of this misfortune, we are behind him. If you want to help your country, talk about unity, that's the least you can do for your country as a good Afghan. Wa

Arian (Long Live RAWA) 10/26/2002 UK | http://www.RAWA.org
| Today, for the second time I came and visited RAWA's guest book. The things that some people write is just simply untrue and meaningless - especialy the American people. First of all, WTC has got nothing to do with Afghanistan and the Afghani people. My heart goes out to those people that died on the aeroplanes that crashed into the twin towers - remember not just white people died on those planes, there were Afghans and Iranians too. But when I think about it, your government is really the cause of all this. First of all, Osama Bin Laden was trained by the CIA to fight against the Soviet Union. Second of all, Osama is an Arab, and Afghanies are not. The majority of Talibans are Pakistanies and Arabs who were transfered to Afghanistan by the US government. The US government dropped an Atomic bomb on Hiroshima, destroying all life, and they were expecting the Japanese government to apologise to the people of Britain and the US. The US government went to Vietnam, this not only caused the killing of many native people, but also resulted in the loss of your peoples lives. Britain went and mass murdered Africans in Africa, and enslaved them as though they were little more than animals. The US government shoots an Iranian 747 aeroplane down with two rockets; more than 500 passengers died on that flight, that was flying over the coast of the Persian Gulf. The US goes to Somalia and kills the innocent... this list could go on and on. And at the end of the day you were the same people who went and virtually wiped out the Native Americans race and culture from their own land. And you call yourself Civilised? When it comes to you killing the innocent you have every right to do so, George Bush and Tony Blair want to bring down Saddam Hussein - why? Do you really think it is because of his Chemical weapons? No, I do not think so. Thatcher sold those Chemical waepons to Iraq and Saddam droped them on Iran. How come you were all so quiet back then and did not say a thing? Its our money you are after.. why don't you learn your lessons? The Soviet Union tried to attack Afghanistan, you did it too, the English tried, and so did the Mongolians. But none of you succeeded in defeating the Afghans. Countries like Iran and Afghanistan will stay there as strong as before, no one can take us over. I am not a Muslim by the way, so do not go using religion against me. Long Live Afghanistan and Iran! Down with the Arabs, the US, British Government, and all who want to destroy us and spit in the face of freedom. Only in your wildest dreams - no matter what type of weapons you have, we have unity.

Genevieve Creedon 10/26/2002 USA | I learned about RAWA when I read Veiled Courage, and what strikes me is that women in the West who have the ability and freedom to act and take a stand have become so complacent that only seldom are strong and courageous stands made. I thank RAWA for its action and steadfastness.

densatjo 10/26/2002 Jakarta, Planet earth... our p | i heard someone talks about bali here.we, all of the indonesian people, very shock with that tragedy, and we apology to all the victims.and i heard the USA goverment, Australia, and many european countries, was judging too fast about the suspect. they said that the bomber is the muslim militant. As long as i know the rational thought is came from West. But for the case like his, why did they not use they analysis more clearly? are they had been blinded by they passion?About the suspect of BaliBom, there are 3 suspects, religi's militant( muslim, christian, or hindu), the men behind loal politic, or te men behind global politic( CIA could be the most suspect).all we wanted is.... just help us to find the suspect.and i have a question here: why the American hate Muslim?in the past, the conquestadores ( they are christian) came to america and killed so much indians; the portuguest and the ducth came to my country, rob indonesian treasure, rap indonesian women, killed indonesian people. english and other eoropean came to australia, rob their land and killed the aborigins. And the oponheimer that was created by hitler. And about hundreds thousand of the muslim in bosnia. ..... All of those are did by the cristian. yes the crhristian killed them all!!!but we never keep our hate feeling to all the christian. We never jugde that all the christian is thebad community. NO!! never!and about the term of 'Terrorist'.... who is the real terrorist??? open your mind!

Dianne Bontempo 10/26/2002 Western Australia, Australia I have just finished reading "Veiled Courage"...a book about Inside the Afghan Women's Resistance, by Cheryl Benard. I have spent the last four hours looking around the RAWA website and haven't even scratched the surface yet. I came to the guest book to see the comments of others and to make a comment of my own. I must say I was surprised by some of the comments and at the anger that comes through in what people say. Regardless of your beliefs of either religion or politics you cannot deny what the Afghan women, children and men have been through for so many years. I cannot even imagine what life would be like for these brave people. Before I read the book and looked up sites on the internet, I was largely ignorant of the suffering of the Afghan people under the rule of the many tyrannical leaders they have had over the years. I applaud RAWA and support them in all that they undertake.Love and Hugs

Pehhy O'Reilly 10/24/2002 U.S.A. | When I hear a sixteen year nold moron with the brain of a flea from a third world country two days out of the stone age (Iceland) say she "has no sympathy" for the unfortunate civilians who died in the Muslim terrorist attack on New York, then I reserve the right to comment on how I feel about that sixteen year old, who should be shoved up and made over. I am fed up with anti-american comments, especially from Iceland. I believe the American government has done more to further the cause of women than any government in the history of man on this planet. If the Icelandic Bimbi sympathizes with Osama Bin Laden then I would hope the U.S. drops a bomb on her Icelandic home.
